Design: Colourful Silk Foulards

For my collection of silk foulards, I decided to work on colour concepts and Florence designer house inspirations like Gucci and Emilio Pucci. Silk printing is fascinating, as the soft shimmer of the fabric enhances the intensity of the colours. For the choice of colours, I worked with a lot of influences — the Colour palette of the glorious Sixties, Colours from my flower shootings, and colours from artworks.

I did colour research and found out that colour wavelengths have parallelism in music sound waves. Music is proven to trigger emotions, and so I developed a philosophy of colour based emotion fabrics. That was thrilling. The philosophy behind the creations convinced a group of conscious and authentic customers. They started to buy the products because they liked the idea. The magazine "Happiness" published some articles about silk, colour and energy of the products of my brand.

Empiric research shows that the items shopped with a cause stayed longer in the wardrobe than other "Fast Fashion". Colours seem to be a sufficient cause in itself. Customers were usually happy with their purchase. I was pleased to have developed a product which was so meaningful to my clients. Is it Art, a scarf or a colour therapy? Nobody can tell you exactly! But I'm already looking forward to developing another collection in the future.
